12 Nigerian Artistes who have had issues with their Record Label

Nigerian artistes who have fought with their record label
  1. Ruggedman vs Little Fish

After Ruggedman dropped Ehen and basically revolutionized Hip Hop in Nigeria, a certain US-based Muri Ejalonibu – founder of Little Fish Records – offered him a contract. The label owner wanted to be a viable competition for Kennis Music – which was like the big fish then – and signed on the rapper who already had beef with them, based on his Ehen song. Long story short, the relationship that began really well took a downturn when Little Fish asked him to stop beefing people and start talking about other things. Rugged wouldn’t hear none of that, so he left, and the label – which had acts like Artquake signed on it – basically crashed.

Rugged may not be as relevant as he was back in the day, but he is still a name people remember.

So, verdict: Ruggedman 1 – 0 Label.
