Ten Habits that Will Change Your Life For The Better

We all want to live happy and have a good life, but are we ready to bear the cost? Nobody is perfect, and no one has a perfect life, but achieving something close to perfect is attainable with the right habits. These habits sometimes do not appear appealing and might seem like an inconvenience, however, that is the price you pay for a better and more purposeful life.

Below are ten habits that will change your life for the better.

1. Sleep and wake up early

“Early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy and wise”. This saying cannot be over emphasized. After the long day of work, the body needs rest, but we’d rather spend time on our phones, looking at instagram for hours or in front of a TV. Adequate sleep is important for a healthy lifestyle.

When you go to bed early, you inevitably wake up early, and waking up early will set your day in perfect motion and you end up achieving almost everything you set out to do.

2. Eat healthy

Health is wealth, period. Nowadays we spend too much time eating junk and things that destroy our health. The body needs nutrients to function well, and if here is a shortage of these nutrients, the body will begin to malfunction, and frequent illness will begin to take over. Not only will you bear the pain and discomfort that the sickness brings, you will also bear the financial burden of hospital bills and other medications. Wouldn’t you rather send your money on better things than in a hospital.

3. Set goals and pursue them

Set long, medium and short term goals for yourself. Setting goals gives your life a sense of direction and a reason to wake up every day. While you set goals, make they are realistic and to your strengths, as this will drive you into pursuing them relentlessly. Setting goals will gives you purpose, and eventually when you achieve those goals revel in your fulfillment.

4. Identify opportunities and take them

Working hard sometimes isn’t just enough. You could be striving for years until an opportunity comes knocking. It is your responsibility to identify those opportunities so that you can exploit them, because opportunity might not come just once, but they do not come often.

5. Pray more

Whether you believe in God at all or whichever god you believe in, praying is a habit that could transform your life for the better. The universe is definitely controlled by an entity or entities, nothing g happens in a vacuum, so whenever we pray and to whatever, the universe hears us and does something about it. So if you’re going through stuff, in need of a job, university admission, get o your knees and pray.

6. Save more

This cannot be over stated. Money is never enough, the more you make, the more you want. However, money has the tendency of running out and that is why you need to save more. That new bag or sneakers, or gadget can always wait because new models are released every year. That money is better kept in a savings account or fixed somewhere so that it can yield profit for the future.

7. No to Procrastination

We all do it, it is almost inevitable, but that doesn’t make it right. Procrastination can hinder your progress in life because you will miss deadlines, lose opportunities or even get fired from a job. No matter how had it may seem, when you make commitments, make sure you honour them, unless you unavoidably cannot.

8. Take risks

We spend too much time pondering and making endless plans without actually executing anything because we are afraid of the risks involved, and we do not want to fail or disappoint ourselves or people around us. However, most success stories have an element of risk taking, thus, no risk no reward. Confront your fears, pursues those goals no matter how huge they seem, take the losses, try again and success will be yours some day.

9. Stay happy

We often fill our hearts with so much negativity and develop imaginary enemies, causing ourselves to be unhappy. Try as much as possible to stay happy, fill your hearts with positivity, be good to people and do what makes you happy.

10. Enjoy yourself

A wise man once said “I don’t know about you, but I have decided to enjoy the rest of my years on earth” and I think everyone should make that their motto. Sometimes we work too hard and forget that we are humans, you deserve to give yourself a treat from time to time, go out, have a good meal, a couple of drinks, hang out with friends, make yourself happy, and at the end of the day come back home and have a good night rest.
