Episode 2 of season 8 aired last night and like the first episode, there are several memorable scenes and events, as things are beginning to take shape and everyone is starting to feel the winter.
Here are 12 best moments from the episode 2.
1. Jamie is accepted into Winterfell
Jamie is put before a panel to be judged and to determine whether he is to be punished for his offences or accepted into Winterfell. Everything points towards punishment until the intervention from Tyrion and Brienne who vouch for him.
2. Jamie and Bran have a conversation
After his mini trial, Jamie finds and apologises to Bran, and asks him why he didn’t tell anybody what he had done. Bran tells him that he isn’t angry, and implies that it was meant to happen and that Jamie was needed in the war to come.
3. Daenerys trie to make peace with Sansa
Sansa and Daenerys have a conversation, supposedly to resolve their differences and some point it seemed like the two women were coming to an agreement until Sansa stakes a claim for the independence of the North and things fall apart again.
4. Theon returns to Winterfell
Theo Greyjoy returns to Winterfell to fight for the North. He receives a warm and emotional welcome.
5. A little girl wants to fight
During preparations for the coming war, a little girl states her desire to follow in the footsteps of her older brothers and fight in the war. She is talked out of it and convinced by Gilly to stay in the crypts with the other children as their protector.
6. Grey Worm makes Missandei a promise
In an emotional scene, Grey Worm promises to take Missandei away from the chaos to wherever she wants to go after Daenerys takes the Iron throne.
7. Drink therapy session
There is a drink therapy session between Tyrion, Jamie, Davos, Tormund, Brienne and Podrick where they tell their stories and contemplate their fate.
8. Brienne is a Knight
Brienne is made a knight by Jamie after Tormund suggests that he would make her one if he were a king.
9. Arya has sex with Gendry
Arya finally gives into her desires and has sex for the first time with Gendry, at least before they die.
10. Sam gives Jorah a sword
Sam gives Jorah his family sword in appreciation for the lessons he learnt from his father. Jorah promises to use it to guard the realm of men.
11. Jon tells Dany who he really is
Jon tells Daenerys that he is Aegon Targaryen and this is a hard pill for her to swallow as she realises that that makes Jon the last remaining male Targaryen and heir to the Iron throne.
12. The White walkers are in Winterfell
As the episode ends, the white walkers finally arrive at Winterfell and our heroes must now face their most feared enemy.
