Initiated by Daddy Freeze, the trend challenged why Christians should pay tithes to their pastors and led to tons of conversations on Instagram and Twitter, supporting and opposing tithing. Surprisingly, asides attacking Daddy Freeze, none of the popular pastors who acknowledged the movement have been able to properly justify tithing.

It is no longer news that young adults are tired of old men holding all the cards and making all the decisions in the political space. This inspired the viral #NotTooYoungToRun hashtag – a movement that sought to increase participation of young people in governance and constitutionally reduce the age at which people were eligible to run for certain offices in Nigeria.

Arguably Nigeria’s biggest music Reality show right now, The Voice Nigeria was a sensation this year, and when each episode aired, the hashtag was trending topic, as people shared their thoughts and showed their support for their favourite contestants. The contest which was eventually won by Idyl was hosted by Ik Osakioduwa and Stephanie Coker. The judges were Patoranking, Waje, Yemi Alade and Timi Dakolo who mentored the winning act.

Kids aged between 13 and 17 competed for the highly contested crown as Mathematics king/queen in Nigeria and every week the show aired, it was a trending topic in Nigeria as Nigerians massively followed it.
