Colors of the Wind was written by Stephen Schwartz and Alan Menken and recorded by Judy Kuhn, for Disney’s Pocahontas in 1995. Vanessa Williams later did a cover of the song, and it eventually won the Academy Award for Best Original Song at the 68th Academy, the Golden Globe in the same category as well as the Grammy Award for Best Song Written for a Movie.

  1. Under the sea – Little mermaid

With lyrics by Howard Ashman, “Under the Sea” was composed by Alan Menken and is based on the song “The Beautiful Briny” from the 1971 film Bedknobs and Broomsticks. It was performed in The Little Mermaid by Samuel E. Wright and won the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 1989, as well as the Grammy Award for Best Song Written for Visual Media in 1991.
