Grammy Awards 2023: The Big Winners, Record Breakers & Major Snubs.

2023 Grammy Awards
The 65th Edition of the Grammy Awards

The 65th Edition of the Grammy Awards took place last night in Los Angeles. The night ended with Beyonce breaking the all-time records for Grammy wins, Harry Styles winning the coveted ‘Album of the year” category, while Lizzo, Tems, and Samara Joy all won big at the 2023 Grammy Awards.

However, some major snubs included Chris Brown missing out on the RnB Album of the year category, Beyonce missing out on Album of the year, and Burna Boy losing the Best Global Music Performance category.

Chris Brown took to social media to register his dissatisfaction with the Grammy organizers for losing out on the Best RnB album category. Nigeria’s music Twitter is already in a frenzy for what many believed was a “sure” win for Burna Boy.

Also, Viola Davis became just the third black woman following Jennifer Hudson and Whoopi Goldberg to achieve the coveted EGOT status (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Awards) when she won the Best Audio Book, Narration, and Storytelling Recording category.

Music powerhouse Beyonce won four Grammys for the night to bring her tally to 32, surpassing Hungarian-British conductor George Solti’s 31 Grammy tally. A record that has stood for 20 years.
