Everything Announced At The Apple Event 2020

On September 15,  Apple Inc. held its annual event where it announces new products, product redesigns and upgrades. This year’s event was held virtually, obviously because of the pandemic which didn’t stop Apple from showing us all the new toys they’ve been working on.

Unfortunately, the iPhone 12 was not announced but several interesting devices and softwares were showcased, most notably the Apple Watch SE and the much awaited IOS14.

New software

Apple announced that the much talked about IOS14 scheduled to be released on September 16. Features include fully redesigned widgets which give users more information at a glance, Picture in Picture which enables you to keep watching videos or continue your FaceTime call while you use another app. Other softwares announced were the Watch OS 7, and tvOS 7.

Apple Watch Series 6

Apple announces Apple Watch Series 6 with ability to measure blood oxygen  levels - The Verge

Apple today announced Apple Watch Series 6 which delivers many notable hardware and software improvements. The design of the Apple Watch Series 6 is quite similar to its predecessors, except with a few new colours including a navy blue and a red model. Beyond the hardware, the Apple Watch Series 6 is packed with features including a new processor known as the S6 chip which is said to be 20% faster than the Series % chip. The new generation Apple watch also has a sensor to track blood oxygen saturation to help track breathing and heart rate.The Apple Watch Series is available for pre-order with a full release scheduled for September 18 and price starts at $399.

Apple Watch SE

Apple Watch SE could be the new default choice - 9to5Mac

With the release of the second generation iPhone SE in April, it was rumoured that Apple will follow up with a watch to match. At the Apple Event, it was announced the budget-priced Apple Watch SE will be coming on September 18. It is said to have a similar design with the Apple Watch Series 6 as well as supports features like Family Setup and Fall Detection, but with the S5 

iPad (8th Generation)

Apple today introduced the eighth-generation iPad, featuring the powerful A12 Bionic which delivers a huge leap in performance, with 40 percent faster CPU performance and twice the graphics capability. At just $329,the device features a 10.2-inch Retina display, advanced cameras, and great all-day battery life. The New iPad will be made available on September 18.

iPad Air

Apple also announced the new iPad Air which features new all-screen design with a larger 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display, camera and audio upgrades, a new integrated Touch ID sensor in the top button, but no Face ID. The device is powered by the A14 Bionic processor giving tje device 40% CPU performance boost over the previous-generation iPad Air, along with a 30% increase in graphics performance. The device comes in five finishes: silver, space gray, rose gold, green, and sky blue. Price for the new iPad Air starts at $599 and will be available in October.

Apple Fitness+

Apple today unveiled Fitness+, the first fitness experience built for Apple Watch. Apple Fitness+ gives personalized exercise instructions while also providing information such as time and heart rate. The feature can be accessed on the iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV. At launch, Apple Fitness+ will be available in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the UK, and the US. Fitness+ will be available to Apple Watch customers as a subscription service before the end of 2020 for $9.99 per month or $79.99 per year. 

Apple One

Apple today announced Apple One, which gives users access to Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, Apple News+, Apple Fitness+, and iCloud with one subscription plan. Users in over 100 countries and regions will also be able to access these services across their various devices, including iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Apple TV, and Mac. Prices range from $14.95 to $19.95 and lastly $29.95 per month.
