Neymar
Is Neymar a brilliant footballer? Yes. But until the second half of Brazil’s game against Belgium, his efforts at the worldcup were fraught with childish shenanigans, Oscar-worthy theatrics. Including – and especially the one where he rolled and writhed in excruciating pains when he was barely touched. The memes that followed were hilarious. There is even a challenge – #NeymarChallenge. Hilarious.

Mexico fans
Imagine celebrating so hard that you cause an artificial earthquake. Yes, that is what the Mexicans did when they defeated Germany. Also, after surviving the group stage – partly due to South Korea defeating Germany, fans went to the South Korea embassy, and made the consul general drink some Tequila.
This is the best you'll see today 🇲🇽 🙌🏼
Hundreds of Mexican fans marched to the Korean embassy in Mexico City to thank the Korean Ambassador, danced with him and forced him to drink tequila straight from the bottle after South Korea beat Germany 😂

Senegal crashing out on fairplay
For the first time ever, the fairplay rule came to play, as Senegal – despite having same points and goals as Japan in Group H – joined other African teams on the plane home. They had the only black and the youngest coach in the tournament too, and he dropped one of the fattest GIFs in the tournament.

Belgium’s last minute goal against Japan
Belgium was trailing Japan by two goals in the second half of their 2nd round game, but somehow, they equalized, and in the very last minute of extra time, they scored one of the most beautiful goals of the tournament, with Lukaku making one of the sweetest runs, and non-assists in the tournament.

The Japanese class act
First, the Japanese fans cleaned up the stadium after their games, then, after a grueling match with Belgium which they lost in the last minute, they cleaned up their locker room, and dropped a note saying “Spasibo”, which is Russian for “Thank you”. Class act from the Asian giants.

Batshuayi and the post
The self-acclaimed batman kicked the ball in celebration after his team scored, but the ball wasn’t having none of that. So it hit the post and came back straight for his face. Hilarious.
