Alan Menken and Tim Rice composed a whole new world – the hugely popular ballad between Aladdin and Jasmine – Brad Kane and Lea Salonga. The couple also performed the song in their characters at the 65th Academy Awards, where it won Academy Award for Best Original Song as well as a Grammy Award for Song of the Year at the 36th Annual Grammy Awards.

“I’ll Make a Man out of You” was composed by Matthew Wilder and lyricist David Zippel for Disney’s Mulan, released in 1998. It was performed by Donny Osmond, as the singing voice of Captain Li Shang in lieu of B. D. Wong, who provides the character’s speaking voice. The song also features appearances by Lea Salonga as Mulan, Eddie Murphy as Mushu, and Harvey Fierstein, Jerry Tondo and Wilder himself as Yao, Chien-Po and Ling, respectively.
