2018 was a great year for Nigerian acts – we have mentioned this before – and so many hit songs and bangers were dropped. Without much ado, and in no specific order, see a list of the 10 ten best songs released this year.

- Gbona by Burna Boy
Burna Boy got the fans addicted when he dropped his album outside. One of its remarkable single, Ye, was outstanding as well as Heaven’s gate and so on. But guess what, he destroyed it with “When the gbedu the enter body…” Gbona, making it to the Top of our list. GBONA dropped on the 25th of September 2018, produced by KEL P. Gbona streamed on all major music channels locally and internationally. - Amaka – 2face ft Peruzzi
‘Amaka’ is clearly a follow-up to his 2017 hit ‘Gaaga Shuffle which the fans reacted with mixed feelings. With ‘Amaka’ he showed that he still had his head in the game and is not about to quit any time soon. He captured an episode of a guy frustrated at his no-show girlfriend. It went viral making “Amaka” the slang for “disappointment”. - Assuarance – Davido
Assurance was definitely a bit and trending song in the year 2018 and was hitting on all platforms and he performed it in Big Brother Nigeria. Davido shock the internet as he advertised his girl friend chioma, the stunt has been copied by almost every artist in there collabos but this is just the best. - Fever – Wizkid
This list won’t be complete without naming Wizkid. Fever was the talk of the town… no scratch that, it was the talk of the country. Wizkid feature his besting Tiwa Savage as a video vixen and they had all there loved up scenes which got people talking. - Lova Lova – Tiwa Savage ft Duncan Mighty
This year would probably be remembered as the year of Duncan Mighty, the Port-Harcourt first son who some have forgotten about. His return was sparked by his appearance on Wizkid’s ‘Fake Love’. That return was solidified on Tiwa Savage’s ‘Lova Lova’. Lova Lova dropped on the 2nd of August 2018. - Science Student – Olamide
Science student by the incredible YBNL boss, Olamide was a hit jam which dropped on the 11th of January 2018 kicking off his year with a new vibe, new dance and a new trend that made waves and still making waves. - Fake Love – Wizkid ft Duncan Mighty
The legend brought back to light the long lost Port-Harcourt first son Duncan Mighty as a featured artist in this song. Duncan Mighty was epic in his vocal and so was Wizzy and this made the track awesome and unique. - Baba – Dj Spinall ft Kizz Daniel
This collabo was one among the best this year, Kizz Daniel, fresh out of a court case with G-Worldwide showed that he was still the Kiss Daniel that we all knew in G-Worldwide and he is better off without them. The song was a major club hit this year. - This is Nigeria – Falz
Falz was really bold enough to do what a lot of other artist could not try in a music video. He pointed out the corrupt deeds going on in the country by the Politicians, Pastors and Police. These video raised a lot of eyebrows from the fans and those been referred to. They tried to intimidate him into dropping the song, but the rapper who was also a lawyer, clearly knew his rights and stood his ground. - Watin we gain – Victor AD
I will say this came as a surprise to everyone as the music dropped long before it hit the spot light. It grew and got more download and trend for its cool and calm lyrics and rhythm. Victor Ad has been going on shows from then.
