We have officially entered the award season when excellence in film and television in the past year will be recognized and rewarded, and the first stop is the 77th Golden Globes.
The award ceremony was held in the early hours of Monday morning, if you’re living in Nigeria. There were a few surprises like Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman missing out in all its nominations and 1917 unexpectedly winning Best Drama. On the other hand, there were a couple of worthy winners like Awkwafina winning the award for Best Actress In A Motion Picture Musical Or Comedy for The Farewell as well as Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood bagging Best motion Picture Musical or Comedy and a couple more. Brad Pit and Joaquin Phoenix
also deservedly won in their respective acting categories. In TV, Chernobyl and Succession also won big with Best Limited Series and Best Television Series, Drama respectively.
