The highly anticipated show, Big Brother Naija Season 9, themed “No Loose Guard,” has finally kicked off. It premiered yesterday, 28 July 2024, with Ebuka as the host once again. This season, as promised by Big Brother, brought something very new and exciting as the housemates came in twos. The housemates, who came in duos, totaled 28 in number.
Yesterday’s premiere brought some early surprises, hinting at what this year’s show has in store. We saw pairs arriving as family members, couples, and even twins.
As the season progresses, it promises plenty of drama, friendships, relationships, and emotional turmoil. Meet the ‘NO LOOSE GUARD’ housemates.
- Zinwe
Meet Zion and Chinwe, our dynamic relationship duo. A couple who are openly dating and have been in a relationship for 5 months. Zion is a 25-year-old entrepreneur from Lagos. He’s charming, confident, and very much in love with his partner Chinwe. Chinwe, a 24-year-old marketing executive from Enugu, is a beautiful, intelligent young lady. They are openly dating and are ready to show their love to the world. They are one of the few people who are already in a relationship in the house.
- Flourish
Meet DJ Flo and Rhuthee. These two ladies have been friends for 10 years and they met in school and kicked off their friendship from there. DJ Flo is from Imo State and Rhuthee is from Akwa Ibom. They seem to be the life of the party and are very eager to embark on this challenging journey. Let’s watch and see if their friendship can stand the test of time and challenges.
- Ndi Nne
This aunt and niece duo really got Nigerians talking about what kind of relationship they must have for them to decide on embarking on this journey together. Chinne and Nne have a family relationship, with Chinne as the aunt and Nne as her niece. In their personal interview, Chinne mentioned having tried auditioning for Big Brother Naija for 7 years and decided to try one more time with her niece after seeing the audition advert on Instagram. As of yesterday evening, the duo had gained immunity after winning one of the challenges.
- Shatoria
The male and female duo, Shaun and Victoria, got their name “Shatoria” from Shaun who thought of it. Victoria mentioned meeting Shaun in Dubai at the club, and they proceeded to grow a platonic friendship. This duo is said to be bringing vibes, fun, unpredictability, and chaos.
- Nelita
A pair who are ready to take on any challenge. Anita and Nelly met at an audition in 2015 where they were both trying out for modeling. Nelly mentioned auditioning for Big Brother for 8 years and decided to try one last time with her friend Anita. They are bringing pain, torment, and torture to the house this season.
- Chekas
Chizoba and Onyeka, the unstoppable dynamic sister duo, have been auditioning for 10 years. Onyeka is bringing the fun, drama, and plans to shake tables this season, while Chizoba is bringing logic, intelligence, and love. Together, they are both fierce and harmonious. The Chekas are ready to take on any challenge brought to them by the house and leave their mark.
- Radicals
Fairme David, a 29-year-old dancer, and Michky, a 24-year-old fitness trainer, met at the gym and kicked off their friendship from there. They promise to bring a drama-filled, no-filter version of themselves to the Big Brother house.
- Beta
Olatuni and Ben have known each other for 5 years and met while talking about Big Brother Naija on Twitter. Both of them are fans of Big Brother Naija. Tjay came up with the idea of them going into the Big Brother house. They promise to give us captivating memories while they are in the house.
- Mbadiwe Twins
Ocee and Ozee, identical twins, are both lawyers and socialites. This duo comes from an affluent background. They share a special connection and understanding of each other. Ocee and Ozee form a powerful duo that’s both intelligent and charming. Their twin bond, legal backgrounds, and socialite status make them a strong team. They were the second set of twins introduced into the house.

Kassia, a cosmetic chemist, and Kellyrae, an artist, have been married for 10 years and heard about the show through a friend of Kellyrae. They aren’t going in as a couple but plan on going in as besties and not telling the other housemates they are a couple. Identical twins Wanni and Hanni have been an unbreakable duo all their lives. This is not their first audition, as they have been auditioning for Big Brother for 5 years. They are ready for whatever the house throws at them. They are bringing non-stop energy and entertainment, spontaneous moments and surprise moves, and a unique twin bond that sets them apart from other pairs.

Sooj, a 23-year-old public relations officer, and Topher, a 24-year-old corporate communications officer, met in their office space and have known each other for a year. They are a fashionable duo ready to bring style and flair to the BBNaija No Loose Guard house. They have different tastes in women, but if there is one thing they both agree on, it’s to focus on the bag.

Toby Froge and Mayor Fresh met at the University of Lagos and are content creators. They are a duo ready to take on the challenge. We expect to see their bold moves and ability to take up daring challenges. They are confident and have charismatic interactions. Damilola and Toyosi, best friends for 7 years, met during their industrial training at Lagos State Television (LTV). They plan on using genuineness as a strategy in the house. Dami is a lover girl and hot-headed, while Toyosi is the level-headed and rational friend who often balances Damilola’s impulsiveness. Damilola and Toyosi are an exciting pair set to bring a unique blend of energy to the BBNaija No Loose Guard house.
