April was a glorious month for movie goers worldwide with the release of arguably the biggest film of 2019 — Avengers: Endgame. While the Avengers fever is still everywhere, the month of May promises to be as exciting for movie lovers, with more blockbusters coming to cinemas.
That said, here are our picks for must see movies this May.
1. Pokemon Detective Pikachu (May 10)
In a world where people collect Pokemon to do battle, a boy comes across an intelligent talking Pikachu who seeks to be a detective.
2. Long Shot (May 10)
When Fred Flarsky reunites with his baby sitter and first crush, Charlotte Field, now one of the most influential women in the world, he charms her. When Charlotte decides to make a run for presidency, she impulsively hires Fred as her speechwriter — much to the dismay of her trusted advisers.
3. Heavens Hell (May 10)
Inspired by true events, Heavens Hell tells the story of two housewives whose bond of friendship seem unbreakable, but is filled with deceit and betrayal in the midst of the darkness that hovers above their relationships with their spouses.
4. John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum (May 17)
Super-assassin Jon Wick is on the run after being declared excommunicado for killing a member of the international assassin’s guild. A $14 million price tag put on his head, and he becomes the target of hit-men all over the world.
5. Aladdin (May 23)
In the live action remake of the disney classic, young Aladdin embarks on a magical adventure after finding a lamp that releases a wisecracking genie.
6. Brightburn (May 24)
What if a child from another world crash-landed on Earth, but instead of becoming a hero to mankind, he proved to be something far more sinister.
7. Godzilla: King of the Monsters (May 31)
Members of the crypto-zoological Monarch face off against a battery of god -sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. This collision leaves humanity’s very existence hanging in a balance.
