7 Nigerian Celebrities You Didn’t Know Were Nepo Babies

Some celebrities have been disguising as Lapo babies or are just never really loud about family wealth, hence, we think they just became rich only by their fame and personal struggle.

These are 7 Nigerians that have been nepo babies all their lives, you just didn’t know:

  1. Mr. Eazi:

Life has been easy for Mr. eazi, you just didn’t clock it even from his stage name. He recently became the center of online conversations where he revealed his dad was Wale Adenuga’s pilot after retiring as a military pilot, and also flew Olusegun Obasanjo for 8 years while he was the president of Nigeria.

The same Mr. Eazi, at the age of 19, took a 19 million naira loan from his uncle to start a diesel supply business.

This doesn’t look like a “grass to grace” success story.

  1. Naeto C:

Back in the 2000s, Naeto C looked like the calm rich kid who just happened to rap well. Turns out, he actually was.

Naeto C comes from a very influential family. His mother, Kema Chikwe, is a respected politician and former Aviation Minister. He also grew up around privilege, elite education, and high social circles long before “Kini Big Deal” became a hit.

Suddenly, the clean accent, polished image, and effortless confidence start making sense.

  1. Kemi Adetiba

Kemi Adetiba is the daughter of veteran broadcaster Dele Adetiba. Before directing blockbuster films and dominating Nollywood conversations, she already grew up inside media culture.

From television to communication and production, entertainment was practically part of the family environment. People often frame her success as purely creative genius, which it is, but access and early exposure definitely played a role too.

  1. L.A.X:

A lot of people still think L.A.X was just another struggling upcoming artist Wizkid picked up in 2013. Meanwhile, the singer is the son of billionaire businessman Taiwo Afolabi, founder of SIFAX Group.

That “soft life” energy did not come from nowhere.

  1. Kunle Afolayan

Kunle Afolayan is the son of legendary filmmaker Ade Love. So before becoming one of Nollywood’s most respected directors, he was already born into Nigerian film history itself. The industry was literally home.

  1. KieKie:

Kiekie has always given strong “self-made hustle babe” energy, which is why many people assumed she came from a typical struggling background. But Nigerians started side-eyeing that narrative after she revealed her parents bought her first car when she graduated with a 2:1.

It also turns out her mother is a major businesswoman in the oil and gas sector, which explains the soft-life foundation behind the scenes.

  1. Clarence Peters:

Many people know Clarence Peters as the genius director behind iconic Nigerian music videos, but forget that entertainment was already in his bloodline long before the cameras started rolling.

He is the son of legendary Fuji musician Shina Peters and veteran Nollywood actress Clarion Chukwurah, meaning he grew up surrounded by fame, creatives, and industry influence. While other directors were struggling to find entry into entertainment, Clarence was literally born inside the ecosystem.

Are you amazed by this list? Which one of them did you just find out about? We’ll be reading the comments.
