Tosyn Bucknor, Media Personality and OAP at Top Radio has just passed. It’s a sad day.
Tosyn was reportedly found dead by her husband, Aurelien Boyer, when he arrived home from work on 19th November, 2018.
For everyone who knew Tosyn or admired her from a distance, we can comfort ourselves with the fact that she was a great person.
For those who never knew Tosyn, here are 10 things you need to know about her;
- Her full name was Oluwatosin Abisona Bucknor. Her nickname was the ‘Area Boss’.

She was an OAP at Top Radio 90.9. She was the only female radio presenter in Nigeria who handled a morning show by herself.

She was born to Mrs, Sola Bucknor and Mr. Segun Bucknor, a musician. She was born in a taxi on August 15, 1981. Her mom was going to visit a friend.

Tosyn attended Fountain Nursery and Primary School, Queens’ College, Yaba, University of Lagos (LAW) and the Nigerian Law School, Lagos (LLB).

She did her National Youth Service Corps in Port Harcourt, at Archdeacon Crowther Memorial Girls’ School, Elelenwo.

Tosyn married her French boyfriend Aurélien Boyer, November 15, 2015.

She wanted to be an actress, singer and writer, before she stumbled into her career in radio.

She had sickle cell anaemia but that never slowed her down. Instead, she used it to inspire! She started the ‘These Genes Project’ to help other people.

Her sister is Funke Bucknor-Obruthe, the CEO of Zapphaire Events.
Her sister confirmed that she died of sickle cell complications. She was a warm and energetic person but in everything we give thanks.
