Adesua Etomi and Other Stars makes front cover of Vogue Magazine

There’s something going on over at Vogue HQ — and we like it. Despite the Hailey and Justin Bieber cover last month, Vogue has been consistently delivering impressive covers with the likes of Emily Blunt, Priyanka Chopra and Reese Witherspoon.

Nigerian actress, Adesua Etomi, lands the front cover of the iconic style bible, Vogue.
She is one of the 14 women chosen for the latest issue of the biggest edition of Vogue worldwide, American Vogue.

Diversity is on order this month as Vogue gives up its latest to “global talent,” as actresses Scarlett Johansson, Doona Bae and Deepika Padukone feature on one cover and Léa Seydoux, Angelababy, Adesua Etomi-Wellington and Elizabeth Debicki star on a second cover. The ladies sit pretty in the charming images shot by photographer Mikael Jansson and styled by Camilla Nickerson.

Vogue gathering of these actresses over the course of a long, convivial weekend, however, feels like a sign of a different kind of political and cultural movement. The women who have assembled here live in places like Berlin, Seoul, Nigeria, and Shanghai. They are massively famous in their home countries, and, in many cases, well on their way to that kind of fame in countries we more typically think of as entertainment powerhouses. But bringing them together is not intended to make a statement about crossing over from the periphery to the center; it is about the new center, which is everywhere and nowhere at once.
