Abdul Samad Rabiu Pledges Over $1.5 Million to Super Eagles Ahead of Semi-Finals Clash

Nigerian billionaire and BUA Group chairman Abdul Samad Rabiu has announced a major cash incentive for the Super Eagles following their impressive victory against Algeria.

In a statement shared via X (formerly Twitter), Rabiu congratulated the national team for lifting the spirit of the nation and revealed a performance-based financial reward aimed at motivating the players as they advance in the tournament.

$500,000 for Semi-Final Win, Bonuses Per Goal

According to Rabiu, the Super Eagles will receive $500,000 if they win their semi-final match, with an additional $50,000 for every goal scored in that game.

The pledge doesn’t stop there.

$1 Million Awaiting the Super Eagles in the Final

Should Nigeria go on to win the final, Rabiu stated that he would further reward the team with $1 million, alongside a $100,000 bonus for each goal scored in the final match.

The billionaire described the team’s performance as one that has united Nigerians and reaffirmed national pride, urging the players to continue carrying the country forward on the continental stage.

A Familiar Show of Support

Rabiu’s pledge joins a long tradition of private-sector support for Nigerian sports, especially during major tournaments, where financial incentives are often used to boost morale and performance.

As the Super Eagles prepare for the semi-finals, fans across the country will be watching closely, hopeful that the team can turn momentum into silverware.
