Fun Places in Lagos To Hangout With Your Friends Without Going Broke

Friends that play together, stay together. If you’re looking to take your friendship off the group chat, these are places you can hangout in Lagos without breaking your bank:

  1. John Randle Centre

Onikan roundabout, Lagos Island.

Museum entry at the John Randle Centre is about ₦5,000. It is an interactive cultural museum on Lagos Island that tells the story of Lagos and its people in a way that is engaging. There are installations, storytelling sections, and enough to keep a group occupied for a solid two to three hours.

  1. Gameland Lagos

Plot 14, Providence Street, off Admiralty Way, Lekki Phase 1

₦5,000 per person for a full day of unlimited access to all games

An outdoor games centre built for people who want to compete, laugh, and argue over who actually won with over 20 games, including giant Jenga, pool tables, basketball, mini-golf, board games, archery, and card games. The unlimited access package makes it easier because nobody has to keep calculating money after every round.

  1. Upbeat Recreation Centre

11 Admiralty Road, Off Lekki-Epe Expressway, Lekki Phase 1

₦7,500 for one hour of trampoline jumping

₦13,000 for the all-access package (trampoline + VR + basketball)

Opens daily from 12 PM to 9 PM

West Africa’s first trampoline park and one of the easiest places to feel like a child again. There are trampolines, foam pits, dodgeball courts, VR games, wall climbing, basketball, and football facilities all in one space. Even if your group claims they are just there to “watch,” somebody always ends up jumping.

  1. Rufus & Bee

Off Remi Olowude Road, Lekki second roundabout (by Lekki Leisure/Ark Event Centre)

Opens Tuesday to Sunday, 12 PM to 10:30 PM

One of the best spots in Lagos for a full day hangout because there is almost too much to do. You get arcade games, bowling, snooker tables, karaoke, and enough distractions to keep your group occupied for hours.

Bowling is ₦12,500 per person (minimum 2 players, 10 rounds). For the arcade, buy a card at ₦3,000 and load with chips. Minimum chip purchase is ₦5,500 for 55 chips, and each game costs about 5 chips. Cards are shareable among your group.

  1. Carven Arena

3 Landmark Boulevard, Water Corporation Road, Victoria Island

Lagos’s first high-spec esports gaming arena with professional gaming setups, tournament screens, a photo booth, and multiple game options. Perfect for friends who enjoy competing in games and sports. There is also a photo booth and enough going on to make it feel more like an event than a regular gaming centre.

6. Arrows Den Archery

Landmark Centre, Water Corporation Road, Victoria Island

Budget from ₦7,000 per person

You don’t need any experience in archery, which is what makes it more fun. Most people are terrible at it when they start, so the entire session usually turns into friendly competition and laughter. Good for small groups looking for something different from the usual restaurant hangout.

8. Lekki Conservation Centre

Lekki-Epe Expressway, opposite Chevron Estate, Lekki

₦1,000 gate fee per adult; canopy walk is an extra ₦1,500 per person

Opens daily from 8:30 AM to 5 PM

A 78-hectare nature reserve with Africa’s longest canopy walkway (401 metres), monkeys, crocodiles, giant floor board games, and a treehouse. Not your typical hangout but wildly fun with the right group.

9. Escape Room 33

Silverbird Galleria, 133 Ahmadu Bello Way, Victoria Island

Approx. ₦10,000 per person

Opens Wednesday to Monday, 10 AM to 8 PM

If your friend group likes puzzles, competition, and chaos under pressure, this is a solid pick. You and your team get locked in a themed room and have 60 minutes to solve clues, crack codes, and escape before time runs out. They have different themes like Prison Break and Sherlock Holmes, and the games are designed for groups, so it works best when everyone contributes.

10. Kalakuta

7 Gbemisola Street, Ikeja

Entry fee is between ₦1,000 and ₦2,000 per person

Opens daily from 10 AM

Former home of Afrobeat legend Fela Kuti, now turned into a museum preserving his clothes, instruments, photographs, and personal items. Even if you are not deeply into Afrobeat, the stories inside the building are interesting enough to keep your group engaged. There is also a rooftop bar if you want to sit down for drinks and gist after the tour.

LUFASI Nature Park Lagos

Lekki-Epe Expressway, Lekki

Entry fee is between ₦1,000 and ₦1,500 per person

Opens daily from 9 AM to 6 PM

Lufasi is a quiet nature park that works well for group hangouts, especially if your friends are tired of the noisy restaurants and crowded lounges. At Lufasi, there are long walking trails, picnic areas, animals, horse riding, and enough open space to just sit down and gist for hours.
