The 2025 CAF Awards, held on 19 November in Rabat, Morocco, celebrated Africa’s finest talents, but the night undeniably belonged to Achraf Hakimi and Chiamaka Nnadozie of the Super Falcons.
Hakimi made history as the first defender in over 50 years to win the CAF African Player of the Year. His outstanding year at Paris Saint-Germain, winning the UEFA Champions League, Ligue 1, Coupe de France, and UEFA Super Cup, along with Morocco’s strong World Cup qualifying run, cemented his status as Africa’s standout star. In his heartfelt speech, he dedicated the award to young African footballers and everyone who has supported his journey.
On the women’s side, Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie claimed the CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year for the third consecutive time. Now with Brighton & Hove Albion in the English WSL, her consistency for both club and country, especially during Nigeria’s WAFCON campaign, reinforces her place among the continent’s most dominant shot-stoppers.
