No, don’t laugh. This may just be what President Buhari is doing right now. And that may just be the best way to redeem himself. Truth is, if Buhari didn’t win the 2015 elections, he would have gone down in history as the best president Nigeria never had. But after almost 2 years, he has lost 80% of the goodwill that saw him become the leader of the most populous black nation on earth. The best way to save face may just be to write a heartfelt letter to Nigeria, stating that the nation is bigger than his desire to rule, and that his health won’t let him perform optimally, so he is resigning.
If he does this, trust Nigerians, we would forgive him for every other thing he has done.
